Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! To help you celebrate (or not celebrate — this is a place of acceptance. This is a place of Yes), you might want to visit the poem I just had published in Escape Into Life. It’s called “Boy With Your Heart Crayoned Pink on Loose-leaf Paper,” its title ends with a comma, and it’s paired with some incredible paintings by Susan Jamison as part of the Love/Anti-Love issue. I hope you’ll visit it and its friends.

Also, I wanted to re-post the link to my Valentine’s Day entry last year, which featured a series of Ruth Bader Ginsburg Valentines. As a treat, here’s a bonus Valentine featuring the Norotious RBG:

Meditations

I’m thrilled to announce that medi(t)ations, my second full-length book, is now available for pre-order from Amazon and Small Press Distribution. The collection is part book-length poem, part literary nonfiction, part pain relief: I wrote it in the hush of months in which I recovered from surgery, and the book is a record of my battle with my body.

You can read more about the book and its writing in this interview onĀ The Best American Poetry blog; you’ll also find an excerpt there.

If you’d like to know more about Noctuary Press, headed by literary-force-of-nature Kristina Marie Darling, check out the website — and the other titles available, including gorgeous books by Kristy Bowen, Carol Guess, and Joanna Penn Cooper. Give a small press some love this Valentine’s Day and invest in some lovely poetry!
